New To Blu-Ray
By theprojectb
Thinking about taking the next step? The leap from DVD’s to Blu-Rays. Adopting a new technology means acquiring a new player, maybe a new TV, colored wires, and buying or re-buying certain movies. To certain, this may feel like Christmas morning, but to some people this might just be the reason why they waited so long before making the jump to this amazing technology.
For me the switch started with the acquisition of a new television. Right around the time my old television died on me, the week prior to his death, I started to shop around, so maybe that was faith or maybe inception (LoL). So the TV Dies, I buy a new one. But if it was only that simple everyone would have a new LCD TV in their house right now. They look nice, they take little to no space if they are mounted on the wall. In order to get the best out of you TV, you can’t just buy it at the store, plug in your service provider cable in the back and start watching your shows.

Furthermore, to hook that decoder you need a cable, I would suggest getting an HDMI cable, to use the full potential of the decoder and the TV. This adds up very quickly, a couple of bucks here another there, if you don’t shop around a little bit before purchasing anything, you will get burned. Up to now you have a basic HD setup, but to take it one step further you need to add a Blu-Ray player to that setup. Take note that this will also need an HDMI cable in order to play Blu-Ray discs to their full potential.
If your like me and you like to have clear sounds when you watch a movie, you’ll need to add some kind off stereo system. For a cramped up space, I’d suggest going with a 2.1 setup (the 2 equals the number of speakers and the .1 is for the subwoofer). If you go with a living room setup, I would recommend going the extra step to 5.1 or 7.1 for better sound. When everything is set up, you then decider if you want to mount your TV to the wall, to make it look like the TV is floating, or you can sit the TV on a nice table. I prefer the table setup because you have easier access to the back of the TV, but esthetically it looks better when mounted on the wall.
With all that you should be ready to start enjoying everything the Blu-Ray technology has to offer. Get a concert Blu-Ray and crank the sound up just a bit to hear how clear it is or buy movies like Independence Day or Iron Man for the amazing special effects and crystal clear images. If you were thinking of going Blu-Ray and I helped you make a decision of doing so, then Your Welcome! If on the other hand, I scared you further away from that technology, I’m not that worried because I know you’ll be back at one time or another.
Going Blu-Ray Is a Lifestyle Choice, Entertainment At His Best.
Go Blu !!!!

Was there ever a war? Lol just kidding, ya one format is definitely better then 2 competing for superiority. I too am happy with my current setup, although I would like a bigger TV, I dont have the space for it ... right now.
